Teachers will experience learning through phenomena-based instruction and assessment in NGSS science using models from ES, MS, and HS. Teachers will think critically and apply their understanding, just as students do. They will analyze examples of how phenomena is used to assess students of all ages.
Outcomes:
- Teachers will develop a greater understanding about how to use phenomena to guide student learning.
- Teachers will experience the use of both anchoring and lesson-level phenomena as tools for teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Teachers will experience a variety of methods for assessing learning in science and deepen their understanding behind the value of frequent assessment.
